Hi Friends! Thanksgiving is just a few days away! I love stuffing my face with pie and mashed potatoes.. who doesn’t, right? While the people in your lives enjoy the Holiday, the folks over at PuppySpot and I just wanted to take a minute or two to remind you of some important pet safety tips to keep your little fur balls safe on Thanksgiving and the rest of the Holiday season! PuppySpot made this really great infographic to help remind us of the stress and food dangers that our little loves might come across on Thursday: Remember to keep the table scraps to a minimum. Keep in mind that everyone at your house is trying to sneak that cute pup a little bit of something, and it adds up quickly! Always avoid hazardous foods like onions, garlic and chocolate.
Looking for a new fur ball? While I always recommend adopting over shopping, its still fun to look at those puppy photos! Head over to PuppySpot’s puppy page to take a look at these nuggets!
Boy, does it feel good to finally have some spring weather! Its nice and warm here in Ohio, and my flowers are starting to bloom in the garden. It has created a bit of spring fever. I’ve been itching to switch out items around the house to give it a bit of a lighter and brighter feel. The first thing I really worked on was our newly finished dining room. My husband made our table from bits and pieces of other tables- creating this stunner. I am in love with how it turned out. We added this blue area rug right before Christmas and I’ve been really happy with it. The pattern hides crumbs really well, and the price for the size is a steal! For this Easter inspired spring table, I wanted a soft and pretty feeling with some natural elements. I started with our Pottery Barn table runner we had from a wedding gift. This one is similar! I took inspiration for the colors from these beautiful Studio McGee Watercolor Pillows. Everything about them just screams “happy” to me. I love the soft blues, greens and pinks. It was a fun color pallet to work with!
I picked up some strips of moss from my local craft store. I layered them with the table runner to add texture. I used simple white chargers, white plates and some hand-me-down blue and white china for the service wear. I used these lace trim napkins (on sale!) to echo the same linen in our dining chairs. I added the same moss, a tulip and some soft pink ribbon to finish off the look. Thanks for checking out my Easter inspired spring dining room! I hope you got some inspiration out of it! Let me know what you’re table is looking like- leave me a comment below. I love hearing from you!
I don’t know about you but I feel like after the Holidays, I never put a wreath back out on my front door.. Where we live in Virginia, there is just so much snow and yuckiness that anytime I have a wreath out from January-March it always gets… gross. I tend to leave my front door bare up until the first signs of spring have started. Guess what, its here! Yup, Spring is right around the corner, I can feel it. I saw my first little bits of flowers popping up in the flower beds, and it is supposed to be 70 degrees next week. Talk about a big jump from the snow we had last week… Either way, I’m more than ready for winter to be over.
I’ve rounded up my favorite 20 Spring Wreaths that are perfect for the transition to spring. Better yet, all of them you can buy online right now (or try a knock off DIY version!)
1: I just love the simplicity of this Easter Wreath. The natural branches and various shades of green are perfect for this time of year, and the birds nest with baby blue eggs is just adorable! You can buy this wreath at Pottery Barn for just $59.00.
2: This particullar wreath is great because it can easily transition from spring to summer! I just love the burlap bow, fern leafs and the bright colors of the wildflowers! You can purchase this wreath for $65.00 from Horn’s Homemade’s shop on Etsy.
3: I work right across the river from Washington DC. On my drive home every spring, I look across to see the beautiful Apple Blossoms that DC has become famous for. Now, nothing says “spring has started” more than these beautiful pink blossoms. You can get this wreath from Crate & Barrel for $65.95.
4: The Little Green Bean’s etsy store has a ton of adorable finds, like this cute Easter Wreath for just $36.00! I love the natural tons of the burlap contrasting with the orange and green from the carrots… and how cute is that little welcome sign??
5: Sometimes simplicity goes a long way for the facade of your home. I love this greenery paired with the black & white stripped bow. For only $42.99 you can add a touch of French Garden to your own front door.
6: Ever Blooming Original’s etsy store has hit the nail on the head with this super cute handmade bunny wreath. With three sizes and about a dozen ribbon options, you can have your own for $39.00! What a great deal.
7: Ombre flowers, burlap bow and birch wood twigs?! I’m in love! There are multiple different flower color options and 9 ribbon choices for $89.00. It might be a little pricy, but how cute is the finished product!
9: Tulip’s are my dad’s favorite flower. My mom planted dozens of Tulip bulbs in her garden for him, and they will always remind me of my dad. I love how elegant this Tulip Wreath is! For $70.00 you can order one from Horn’s Homemade.
10: I just think this wreath is beautiful. It is $69.99 on Kelea’s etsy store, and in my own opinion it is worth every penny. I love this hint of green against the natural textures of the cotton buds. Who doesn’t love a pretty stripped ribbon as well!William Sonoma’s Forsythia Wreath
11: I love the way yellow pops against my black front door. I have a similar version of this William Sonoma Wreath that I put out at the end of Spring every year! This online only wreath is $59.95.
12: I am a sucker for a monogram. I am also a sucker for a square wreath. I love Elegant Wreath’s version! It is a little on the higher price side at $115.00 but you get to pick between several sizes and colors for the monogram cut out.
13: Again, sometimes simple is best when you have a lot going on on the front of your house. I picture this simple Pussy Willow Branch Wreath on a bold colored front door! This would pop so well on a baby blue or bold red! It can be your for $79.95. Keleas’ Natural Bunny Wreath
17: This beauty comes with several color options in both the flowers and ribbon! Elegant Wreath has this custom made wreath priced at an even $100.00. As they say on the description- this would make such a great Mother’s Day gift! Great idea!Privileged Door’s Moss Letter Wreath
18: This adorable moss covered monogram letter wreath comes in 7 different sizes and is priced starting at $35.00. This would be a super cute DIY project, but why bother with a price like that?!
20: For just $34.99 this pastel berry wreath is a steal. Kirklands offers a super easy and cute way to spring with this fun wreath!

Sometimes I get really tired of the uber romantic-lovey-dovey v-day cards in the super markets. I’ve decided to branch out and find a more punny (see what I did there) card for my fiancé this year. Are you still looking for a fun Valentine’s Day card to give to your sweetheart? Well you’re in luck! I’ve rounded up my favorite, funny, and slightly crude Valentine’s Day cards just in time for February 14th
Hope you have a great weekend, and happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you get an amazing card from your loved ones, or be sure to give your favorite someone a laugh with one of these cards. What have the women in your life put on their wish list? Leave a comment and let me know!
I am happy to say that I turn 26 years old today! I am blessed in so many different ways and haven’t been this happy in a long time. Brian and I got engaged a few months ago, work is going well, my family is in good health, my friends are amazing… I have no complaints and I am so very grateful for that.
Brian was very good to me this year, and surprised me with an AMAZING birthday gift. I am excited to say I got the Silhouette Cameo! The Silhouette CAMEO® is your standard in electronic cutting. Like a home printer, it plugs into your PC or Mac® with a simple USB cable. However, instead of printing it uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, fabric, and other material up to 12 inches wide and 10 feet long. Oh the possibilities!! For years I’ve been ordering vinyl decals from Etsy vendors. I can not wait to crank out my own! Brian is also excited to try it for some t-shirt designs. I’ve already started a Silhouette Cameo Projects Pinterest Page of fun ideas that I can not wait to try! I am so excited to get crafting! I can picture the Christmas gifts now…
Have you all started your lists yet? I always try to find something personal and meaningful making my list making the hardest part. Earlier this month I gave you some great ideas for a Hostess Gift Under $50.00. With them checked off, I’m onto showing you my favorite gift ideas for the menin your life. I’ve upped the price point to $199 (but still have some great options for well under $50!). Take a look!
Who doesn’t love getting warm and snuggly pajamas on the holidays? This is a great look with the red plaid and would be the perfect pair to wear on Christmas morning!
THREE: Mr. Beer’s Premium Home Beer Brewing Kit $54.99
Do you have a beer lover in your life? Why not spark and awesome new hobby where you get to reap the benefits as a taste tester?! This kit has everything he will need to make 4 gallons of homemade brew. Have fun!
Have you guys hear all the rage about the Yeti coolers? Brian wants to get one really bad, but who wants to shell out $300 on a cooler… Maybe he will get this awesome mini cup version in his stocking. They are made with stainless steel and wont sweat. Not bad..
I got a Sonos system for Brian almost two years ago, and it has by far been the best gift I’ve ever gotten him. Since then I’ve also gotten some for my brother and dad. Its a music system that can be played wirelessly throughout your home simply with an app on your phone. It can link to Pandora, iTunes, or really any music playing system. FANTASTIC.
This is another gift I got Brian last year. He takes it out hiking, hunting and fishing (and has also strapped it to the dogs on several occasions..) It is great for anyone who wants to record things that might not be easily captured with their phones!
Wow! Can you believe it is already time for Holiday Gifts?! Last time I blinked it was June?
I always, always, ALWAYS bring a hostess gift with me to any Holiday function I am invited to. This seems to be a somewhat dying art.. I was taken aback by the shock on a friend’s face last weekend when I gave her a Hostess Gift when invited to a small FriendsGiving Dinner. She was so grateful for my small gift, and it made me feel great to give her a small token of my appreciation for hosting our gathering. I think we should bring Hostess Gifts back! Here is my list of favorite Hostess Gifts that are (mostly) under $50.00:
EngraveMeThis offers a ton of different sizes and monogram styles to fit any budget. Wouldn’t it be great to sign up to bring a fruit and cheese plate to the party, and serve it on this beautiful custom wood cutting board that becomes your hostess gift?!
SEVEN: William Sonoma’s Tartan and Chrome Photo Frame$55.00 (sorry!)
While this might be $5.00 over budget.. it is simply BEAUTIFUL. It is a simple, understated yet elegant gift. Make it personal by adding a family photo!
EIGHT: Pottery Barn’s Textured Linen Wine Bag $12.00
Just add a bottle of your favorite $5.00 wine and you’re all set! What makes this the perfect easy gift is that the gift is also the wrapping!
NINE: ChickSpings’ Zara Tartan Plaid Infinity Scarf $25.00
Can you tell I like to personalize my gifts yet? I think taking that extra step to go personalized shows that you really thought about the hostess while buying! This plaid infinity scarf is simply adorable for anyones winter wardrobe.

Wow, can you believe it is Thanksgiving! The older I get the more I think “time is flying by” but this year seems extra fast. Even with 2015’s speed, I have so very much to be thankful for this year. First and foremost, I am so very thankful for Brain being such an amazing light in my life. Brian is constantly going above and beyond to make sure my happiness is first. His selflessness is like no other. I am so grateful for everything he does for me on a daily basis. I can not wait to call him my husband next year!
I am thankful for my puppies, Bella and Willow. They provide so much unconditional love and laughter in my life. We had a rough year with Bella’s health and I am so grateful to finally have a healthy and happy pup back. Bella had a complication with an infection which lead to glaucoma in her eye. After months of trying to combat the infection and glaucoma we opted to have her eye removed. We were told it was the only way to remove her pain from several different doctors. While it was a rough road, Bella (and her prosthetic eye) are happy, healthy and playful again.
I am grateful for my supportive family. My parent and brother are all such a great influence for me. I am so lucky to have such a great and loving relationship with them. I am also very thankful for Brian’s family. Both Brian and I are so grateful for everything they have helped us with over the last year. They are all truly amazing.
I am thankful for all of my amazing friends. While I have been more absent this year than in years past, I am ever so grateful to have them to lean on. They provide me with so much love and support that I am always so grateful for. I love that I have made so many new friends and kept so many dear friends in my life, and I am so thankful for each of them.
Lastly I am always grateful for the health and happiness of everyone around me. I am lucky to have an overwhelmingly healthy and happy crew over the last year, and I can only wish for many more.
Now, enough of the mushy stuff… Bring on the turkey and PIE 🙂
Here is my round-up of this years favorite Thanksgiving Tablescapes. Thanksgiving tables are so great because really anything goes. You can be simple, traditional, modern or whimsical and you’ll wow your guests. Here are my top favorite table designs for 2015:
ONE: Courtney from A Thoughtful Place showed off her Bright & Bold Thanksgiving Table earlier this month. I love how she incorporated fresh fruit and bright pink for a non-traditional take on the holidays!
TWO: Apartment34 used elegant layers of natural woods, deep plum, and fresh magnolia garland for this mix and match table design. I really love the soft glow from the white candles scattered throughout!
THREE: Pottery Barn’s design blog shows off a more traditional tables cape. The fresh pumpkins and the fresh greens create a beautiful base for the pops of mercury glass and gold. (Written by Megan Bailey of Sweet Little Peanut for Building Blocks.)
THREE: Ella Claire shares this adorable and simple table design. What I love is it makes your guests be interactive with their setting. Adding a freshly sharpened pencil to the utensils was so smart! Click the link to get the free “I am thankful for..” printable.
FOUR: Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Co. shows off a fun take on Thanksgiving by hosting it outside! Even if her post was from a few years ago, it stands the test of time looking just as fun today as it did in 2012!
FIVE: Colleen goes ultra whimsical with this fun design. She used craft paper and a sharpie to create this amazing tables cape for her “Friendsgiving” this year. Check out Lemon Thistle to see more photos!
SIX:Sand and Sisal shares a beautiful take on thanksgiving with a White Pumpkin display. I love that she added some antler candle holders for more texture and shine!
SEVEN: Nyla Free Designs uses two of my favorite things, sunflowers and chalkboard to layer textures on this beautiful design. The natural woods, pop of orange from pumpkins and the slate chalkboard placeholders.. whats not to love!
EIGHT: Spolier, this is not actually from a Thanksgiving table! This is from Wedding Chick’s who show a simple clean table design accented with natural feathers. This comes from a wedding, but wouldn’t this be prefect for your holiday table too!
