I am so excited to share a new area of our home with you! Its been a long time coming… Way back in May I was contacted by Serena and Lily to review their beautiful Ojai Mirror. I was so excited to use it to create a small makeup vanity in the unused space between the windows in our master bedroom. I desperately needed a place to get ready in the morning because our bathroom has a tiny counter and very poor lighting. I ordered a vanity, chair and some accessories- ready to go to show you guys this new area- but life got in the way. If you read Adaline’s birth story, you’ll remember how sick I got with Cholestasis. I was in the hospital for a while and was itching my hands off… Luckily, Adaline was born a month early without a lot of complications. However, its taken me about three months to emerge from my bear den and get out of that newborn-premie-cant-sleep fog.
So, without further adieu- I am happy to finally get around to putting together my new makeup vanity space! (Just in time for finally putting makeup on and something other than sweatpants!) I designed the space around the Ojai Mirror. I loved the classic silhouette and bamboo motif. I also love how the glossy white paint makes it more modern. It was the perfect fit for our master. The space between our windows was tight, but I wanted to get the biggest vanity I could. Storage was also on my mind, and I knew I needed some drawers to organize and hide my mess. I searched high and low for the perfect fit and finally settled for a desk. The Colton Writing Desk to be exact. Its white, small and has two drawers.. so it was perfect! I used an Acrylic Tray to corral the items I use the most to help keep the top of the vanity clean. I use q-tips and cotton balls every morning and night so I got two glass jar with lids to store them. I also got this gold makeup organizer for my makeup brushes and sponges. It works great to help organize them and motivates me to clean my brushes more! On the other side of the vanity I used a jewellery tree to display my favorites. The one I purchased was a Home Goods find but you can find a similar jewelry tree here. Inside the drawers I used drawer organizersto contain my mess and keep my makeup organized. Heres how the inside of my drawers look:What do you think? I’ve been loving my new vanity space! A huge thank you to Serena and Lily for sponsoring this post, I couldn’t love my Ojai Mirror more! Do you have a makeup vanity in your house? How do you keep it organized and pretty? Leave me a comment below, I always love to see what you’re up to!
